Annoyingly the PiHole requires a static IP set in /etc/dhcpcd. conf that are added, and possibly a power users section on setting either a static IP manually via the OS configuration tools specific to that OS, or about setting a reservation for the Pi-hole if it is not acting as a DHCP server itself.
